Release date: Wed, 18 Jun 2008 20:28:00 GMT

You may occasionally receive an error message about disk space when you are using your MobileMe account - for example, when trying to copy files to your iDisk you might see:
"The operation cannot be completed because the disk is full."
When using MobileMe Sync you might see:
"MobileMe Sync Error: Unable to complete sync. Your iDisk is almost full."
When using iWeb to publish to MobileMe, you might see:
"Publish Error: Your iDisk is full."
When using Backup to back up to your iDisk, you might see:
"Backup failed: There is not enough free space at the destination for the backup."
In some cases, you may receive different errors than those mentioned above. Keep in mind that iDisk is the backbone of many MobileMe services. iDisk is where the application support information for your published pages, Galleries, Sync data and much more are stored, in addition to being a tool to store and share standard documents and files on the Internet. In general, if you are having a problem interacting with any MobileMe Service besides MobileMe Mail, it's always a good idea to make sure you have space available on your iDisk.

iPhone/iPod touch: Resolving duplicates and removing all contacts/calendars/bookmarks with MobileMe

Release date:

When you set up an iPhone or iPod touch with iPhone OS 3.0 or later and MobileMe, a dialog may ask you to merge your contacts or calendars with data already on your device. If you choose not to merge, your MobileMe data will be kept separate from the other data on your device; this may cause redundant information (for example, multiple copies of the same contact).
You may also see duplicates if you are syncing data with MobileMe as well as syncing that information through iTunes when your iPhone/iPod touch is connected to your computer by the USB cable.
To confirm you are in this state, while viewing Contacts/Calendars on your iPhone/iPod touch, tap Groups/Calendars in the upper left corner. If you see "On my iPhone/iPod touch" heading, as well as a heading for your MobileMe account, your data is being stored multiple times on the device, causing it to appear as duplicates.

Mac OS X v10.5 and later: About Back to My Mac security

Release date:

Back to My Mac is a feature in Mac OS X v10.5 and later that makes it easy to automatically connect to your other computers over the Internet. Once you've signed into MobileMe on your computer and enabled Back to My Mac, you may securely reach other computers via the Internet. The other computer(s) also must be signed into the same MobileMe account, be using Mac OS X v10.5 or later, and have Back to My Mac enabled on them.
After completing a new installation of Mac OS X v10.5 or later, Back to My Mac is enabled by default, however, the computer cannot be reached until sharing services (such as File Sharing or Screen Sharing) have been enabled in Sharing preferences (in System Preferences).
To ensure network connections between your computers are secure over the Internet, Back to My Mac uses a technology called IPSec to encrypt data. To provide secure and trusted authentication, Back to My Mac uses Kerberos with Digital Certificates. Kerberos provides an additional convenience; it eliminates the need for you to enter your username and password each time you wish to reach another computer in your Back to My Mac network. To learn more about Kerberos, see this article.
